COLUMBIA— Tomato lovers can sample more than 50 varieties of the squishy fruit at a MU research farm.
The annual tomato festival will start at 4 p.m. on Thursday at the Bradford Research and Extension Center in Columbia. Guests can also sample 30 different types of peppers.
MU researchers and extension specialists will give talks on various aspects of tomato and pepper production and cultivation. Visitors can also rate the crops.
Local vendors will offer salsa samples at the free event.
