PrintSEDALIA— Two workers at the Tyson Foods plant in Sedalia were arrested after they allegedly put gloves into the processing line.
Tyson Foods management says no products were damaged or contaminated because quality control employees noticed the gloves before they made it to the processor.
The Sedalia Democrat reports that the two women have not been charged but could face misdemeanor charges of tampering with food products.
The Pettis County Sheriff's office says on Tuesday the two women both placed chicken into two white cotton gloves and put them on the conveyor belt for processing.
If the gloves would have been processed with the ground chicken, it could have cost the company between $35,000 and $90,000 in product and could have damaged the equipment.
