The Missouri women's volleyball team went 1-2 at the Utah Valley University La Quinta Invitational this weekend. The Tigers started off the tournament Friday against Washington State, losing 20-25, 20-25, 22-25 in their first loss of the season. Junior Catie Wilson had 12 kills and two blocks. Despite Wilson’s efforts, the Tigers were out hit by Washington State in all three sets.
The Tigers bounced back from the loss with a 25-20, 16-25, 25-21, 25-23 victory over Utah Valley. Four players finished with double-digit kills including Juniors Julianna Klein and Rosa Medrano led the Tigers with 16 kills and 15 kills respectively. Junior Caitlyn Vann also posted 17 of 56 of the team’s total digs.
The MU women's volleyball team plays at 9 a.m. Friday in the Michigan/Pepsi Challenge in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Missouri finished its appearance a 25-21, 23-25, 19-25, 20-25 loss to No. 17 Utah.
