COLUMBIA — A man was hospitalized after colliding with a car on his motorcycle on Rock Quarry Road early Tuesday afternoon.
The man on the motorcycle was driving southbound, trying to pass another car after crossingthe double yellow line on Rock Quarry Road at about 12:30 p.m. He rounded a corner and crashed into an oncoming vehicle. He was taken to University Hospital to be treated for injuries. The man driving the Honda was not injured.
According to a Columbia Police officer at the scene, the driver of the car was wearing his seatbelt and his airbag deployed.* It is unclear whether the driver of the motorcycle was speeding.
