MU women's basketball team releases 2009-2010 schedule

COLUMBIA — The Missouri women's basketball team announced its 2009-10 schedule Tuesday.  

The Tigers will play 17 home games at Mizzou Arena, eight against Big 12 Conference opponents.

The first game the Tigers play is an exhibition against Central Missouri on Nov. 8 at Mizzou Arena. The season officially starts Nov. 15 on home against Northern Iowa. One more home game against Memphis is slated for Nov.18 before the Tigers travel to Bloomington, Ind. to play Indiana on Nov. 22.

The Tigers then head south to Tallahassee, Fla. to compete in the Seminole Classic Nov. 27 and 29. The Tigers start out the Classic playing Florida A&M on Nov. 27, then face host and 2009 NCAA tournament participant Florida State on Nov. 29.

The Tigers travel to Bradley on Dec. 8 before they begin a six-game home series that runs from Dec. 10 to Jan. 5. Big 12 Conference play starts on Jan. 9 when the Tigers travel to Colorado for their first nationally televised game of the season to be featured on FSN. Conference rival Kansas is slated to play the Tigers on Jan. 17 in Lawrence, Kan., then again at Mizzou Arena on Jan. 30.

In addition to the games against Kansas, home games against Kansas State, Oklahoma and Baylor and away games against Oklahoma State and Texas A&M precede the second nationally televised home game on Feb. 7 against Iowa State, again on FSN. The Tigers wrap up the regular season on March 7 at home against Texas Tech.

The Big 12 Conference women's basketball tournament begins March 11 in Kansas City.
