HOLLISTER— Hollister police say 16 people were injured when a church van ran off a road and overturned into a creek.
Police say the van belonging to New Beginnings Fellowship Church of Hollister crashed Wednesday evening.
A driver and 15 of the 16 passengers on board were taken to Skaggs Hospital in Branson.
Michelle Leroux, a spokeswoman at Skaggs, says 13 of the patients were treated and released, one was flown to a Springfield hospital and two others were driven to Springfield hospitals.
A news release from the Hollister Police Department reported the van crossed a center line at the bottom of a hill, left the road and overturned in Kohler Creek.
Police say excessive speed for the wet conditions may have contributed to the crash, but the investigation is continuing.
