COLUMBIA — The Hickman volleyball team left its gym with heads down and faces flushed after a 25-21, 21-25, and 25-19 loss Thursday night to visiting Jefferson City.
“It’s a little frustrating,” senior outside hitter, Natalie Sauble said. “They’re big rivals so we wanted to come out strong.”
Both teams played hard and fought for every point, but the Kewpies could not pull it off.
“We’re improving,” Hickman coach Gregg Gunn said. “They wanted an exciting match so they got fired up."
The loss puts the Kewpies at 1-3.
Hickman returns to the court 6 p.m. Monday to play at rival Rock Bridge.
