COLUMBIA — Boone County officials say they have raided part of a duplex in Columbia that was dedicated solely to raising marijuana.
Deputies searched one side of the duplex at 1928 Old Plank Village Drive on Monday after receiving complaints from residents. They say they no one lived in the 1,200-square-foot unit, which had been completely modified to grow marijuana.
The modifications included extensive electrical rewiring, grow lamps, timers and water systems. Holes had also been cut in walls, insulation added, doors built and the windows covered.
Deputies found 228 plants, which they say could have produced hundreds of thousands of dollars of marijuana each year.
No arrests have been made.
