COLUMBIA— A longtime television variety show that shined the spotlight on mid-Missouri's regular folks will sign off for good on Friday.
"Pepper
and Friends" has been a fixture on KOMU-TV for more than a quarter
century. But the MU-owned station says the show
hosted by 40-year employee Paul Pepper is losing too much money to
continue.

Loyal fans have protested the decision since the
university announced the move in May. Several sponsors say they will
pull their advertising from the station.
A scaled-down version of Pepper's show will debut in early October on KBIA-FM, a university-owned radio station.
