HONOLULU— Hawaii County police say a 77-year-old Missouri man apparently drowned while snorkeling off the Big Island.
Police say David Ebersole of Liberty, Mo., was snorkeling with a tour group Wednesday morning when he was seen motionless in the water off the Kailua-Kona coast.
Ebersole was taken to Honokohau Harbor and then to Kona Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police say they do not suspect foul play and have ordered an autopsy.
Meanwhile, the Honolulu Medical Examiner's office has identified a 60-year-old Arizona man who died last week while scuba diving as Michael Brady of Tucson.
Brady had been diving in about 100 feet of water off the Waianae coast when he ran into trouble. He later died at a hospital. Authorities ruled his death an accident.
