COLUMBIA — The Rock Bridge softball players dance a lot. They dance during practice. They dance before games. Not just any dancing, choreographed dancing that the players must work together to accomplish.
Not only is dancing a way to release energy before a big game like Thursday's contest against Hickman at Missouri's University Field, but it is also an example of the Bruins' team dynamic.

"We've been working really hard at staying focused and keeping our team intensity up," said Caroline Sicht, the Bruins third basemen. "If we all work together as a team and remember what we've worked for all season, we should do pretty well."
Thursday, the Bruins circled the pitcher's mound to offer up high fives after every defensive play. And in this game, a 4-0 Rock Bridge victory, the high fives were frequent.
Rock Bridge coach Joe Henderson said his team played close to perfection.
“Everybody came off of the bench, and they did their job,” Henderson said. “Tonight they learned the meaning of team.”
After dancing and playing a great game, the Bruins still had the energy to bolt from the dugout to celebrate before shaking hands with the Kewpies.
The Bruins (14-3) play next on Monday night at home against New Franklin.
