Thunderstorms threaten parts of Boone County

COLUMBIA — Anarea of rain moving into Central Missouri this afternoon could bring hail and gusty winds to Columbia and southern Boone County.
National Weather Service radar indicated a line of thunderstorms on the leading edge of the rain that were moving toward Boone County. One storm to the southwest of Columbia had hail up to one-half inch in diameter and wind gusts up to 50 mph at 2:41 p.m., the weather service reported.
