Pregnant Missourians sought for flu vaccine trial

ST. LOUIS — Saint Louis University is seeking pregnant women to volunteer for a trial of an H1N1 flu vaccine.
The school needs 20 volunteers. University officials began soliciting participants last week.

Officials expect the vaccine being tested to be among those released this fall to better protect people against H1N1. They're trying to decide which of two doses is the appropriate strength.
Volunteers will receive two injections 21 days apart, and blood samples will be taken to check for antibodies.
Researchers say it's impossible to get the H1N1 flu from the vaccine because it contains inactive virus.
