Missouri officials investigate whether 14-year-old's death H1N1-related

ST. LOUIS — Health officials are investigating another possible H1N1 death in Missouri.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that 14-year-old Asia Conley died Tuesday night at St. Louis Children's Hospital after spending days on a ventilator.

Her mother, Kim Conley, said her daughter had tested positive for H1N1. She previously had a shunt installed for hydrocephalus, or excessive accumulation of fluid in the brain.
Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services spokesman Kit Wagar said the state must forward a report to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Two adults with H1N1 have died this year in Missouri, but there have been no confirmed H1N1 deaths among youths.
