JEFFERSON CITY — A Jefferson City man suspected in this week's killings of two neighbors previously served prison time in Indiana.

David Russell Hosier remained held Tuesday in Oklahoma. He was arrested there Monday about seven hours after 45-year-old Angela Gilpin and 61-year-old Rodney Gilpin were found dead in a Jefferson City apartment.

Police say the 54-year-old suspect lived in an apartment building directly behind where the victims were found, less than a mile from the state Capitol.

Indiana prison records show Hosier served six years for battery in that state in the 1990s.

The Cherokee County, Okla., Sheriff Department has said Hosier was being held in the county jail on charges of double homicide, attempting to elude and a hold by the U.S. Marshals.
