ST. LOUIS — The sports-loving city of St. Louis will soon have its own sports hall of fame.
Founder and president Greg Marecek said the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame will open in November at the Scottrade Center. Scottrade Center is the home of the St. Louis Blues. The hall will honor the achievements of St. Louis teams and athletes past and present.
Athletes being inducted will include former Cardinals great Stan Musial, Olympic Gold Medalist Jackie Joyner-Kersee and soccer champion Harry Keough.
The hall will also house artifacts from teams and private collections. Those items will include autographed baseballs from the 1934 Cardinals, known as the "Gashouse Gang," and the 1958 NBA championship trophy of the old St. Louis Hawks.
