Monday, October 5, 2009 | 11:08 a.m. CDT

ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis Cardinals still have a long way to go to get to the World Series, but the process of getting tickets is starting.

Tickets go on sale Oct. 20, but online registration for tickets began at 10 a.m. Monday. Fans must pre-register at stlcardinals.com by noon CST Oct. 15.

A random drawing will determine who gets the limited number of World Series tickets for any games that would be played at Busch Stadium.

Winners will be notified by e-mail on Oct. 16, and the e-mail will detail how winners can purchase tickets on Oct. 20.

The National League Central champion Cardinals open the National League Divisional Series Wednesday at Los Angeles.
