COLUMBIA — After the first round of the third annual Johnie Imes Invitational Tournament, the Missouri women's golf team is in ninth place.
The Tigers, who are hosting the tournament at The Club at Old Hawthorne, are competing in a field of 18 teams. Tulsa leads the tournament with a team score of 301 (+13), and the Tigers are 15 strokes behind with a score of 316 (+28).
Kristina Merkle, of Tulsa, who leads with a first round score of 69 (-3), was one of only four players to shoot at even or under par. The top finisher from Missouri was Hannah Lovelock, who shot a 79 (+7) and is tied for 34th place.
The 54-hole tournament will conclude Tuesday, and live scoring is available on www.mutigers.com and www.golfstat.com.
