RUSSELLVILLE — A Russellville man has claimed a $3 million Missouri Lottery prize.
Lottery officials said 45-year-old Roger Schnieders bought the "$200,000 A Year for Life" scratcher ticket at a Casey's General Store in Jefferson City on Sept. 28.
Schnieders said he frequently stops at the store and buys lottery tickets. He said when he first scratched off the winning prize, he had to sit and stare at it for a while.
Schnieders said rather than take the $200,000 a year, he chose the lump sum of $3 million before taxes.
He said he'll buy his son, who's about to go to college, a car. Schnieders will also possibly buy some land. But he plans to keep his job at the Missouri Office of Administration until he can retire.
