H1N1 vaccine arrives in Missouri

CLAYTON — The first shipments of a vaccine to protect against the new H1N1 strain of the flu have arrived in Missouri, but they're not yet available to the general public.
The St. Louis County Health Department said Monday it has received 5,000 doses of a nasal mist vaccine, which will first be administered to emergency responders and health care workers. That's so they don't get sick while they're treating the sick.

Health officials said doses were arriving elsewhere in Missouri as well, though no total figure was immediately available.
Missouri's director of the Department of Health and Senior Services, Margaret Donnelly, has said hundreds of thousands of doses should be in the state by mid-month.
