COLUMBIA — MU's Mike Alden has been named president of a national association of campus athletic directors.
Alden will serve as president of the Division 1A Athletic Directors' Association through September 2010. He succeeds Eric Hyman from South Carolina in the post.
Alden is in his 12th year as MU athletic director and recently signed a five-year contract extension that keeps him at the school through 2017.
The Tiger athletics programs are coming off what some consider the best all-around season in school history. The men's basketball and football teams and women's soccer and softball teams each won Big 12 division or conference titles in the 2008-09 regular season or postseason tournaments.

Good to see Mizzou's AD getting some respect amongst his peers.
