JEFFERSON CITY — Missouri utility regulators said they have saved customers more than $383,000 over the past year.
The Public Service Commission said much of the savings result from officials' handling of customer complaints about utility bills. The savings were recorded for the fiscal year ending June 30. The commission's Consumer Services Department fielded more than 5,600 complaints last year.
Over the past two years, the Consumer Services Department reports saving Missouri customers $700,000.
Regulators said customers with complaints about bills or service should contact the utility first. If there is no resolution, they can contact the Public Service Commission at 1-800-392-4211.
