COLUMBIA — Visitors to Hartsburg's annual pumpkin festival this weekend will find some changes to the usual parking areas.
Heavy rains have caused soggy conditions in the fields where festivalgoers have previously been able to park, according to a news release from the Boone County Sheriff's Department. Parking will be available alongside the county roads south of Hartsburg.
The change will require festivalgoers to walk a longer distance, according to the release. Transportation shuttles will not be operating.
The sheriff's department also suggested that festivalgoers carpool if possible.
Drivers are advised to use alternate routes into Hartsburg, such as River Road, Claysville Road and Hartsburg Bottom Road to alleviate traffic on Route A.
