JEFFERSON CITY — Missouri's corn and soybean crops have received plenty of attention for their expected bumper yields.
But several other crops also are enjoying abundant years in Missouri.
The federal Agricultural Statistics office is projecting a record yield for Missouri rice farmers of 7,000 pounds per acre. Cotton producers also are forecast to have a record yield, at 1,132 pounds per acre.
This year's hay crop also had a record yield and is expected to be the third largest crop on record behind 2004 and 2008.
