EXCELSIOR SPRINGS — Excelsior Springs fire officials are trying to determine what caused a fire that destroyed a dog kennel and thrift store.
The owner of the Tails B Waggin kennel and rescue workers were able to rescue all 16 dogs during the fire Sunday.
The Kansas City Star reports that firefighters and police officers accompanied kennel owner Barbara Baldridge and her husband inside the business and rescued German shepherds, a bulldog, Labradors and other dogs.
An adjoining thrift store, Meet the Need, was destroyed and two other businesses were damaged.
