The Rock Bridge girls tennis team was defeated 5-0 Thursday in the Class 2 state championship against Ladue Horton Watkins.  The Bruins failed to take a set in all five of the matches at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield.

Five of the six singles events were completed while none of the three doubles matches concluded because Ladue Horton Watkins had guaranteed victory with its fifth singles win.

Katherine Glaser from Ladue Horton Watkins had the most convincing victory of the championship with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Rock Bridge’s Alice Mends.

The Bruins defeated Marquette 5-3 in the semifinals earlier Thursday to reach the championship match. They defeated Kickapoo, Branson and Rolla in the three previous rounds.
