It doesn't look like a rain-out, but the latest forecast calls for some light rain for viewing the homecoming displays Friday evening in Greektown.
Julie Phillipson, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in St. Louis, said late Thursday afternoon that conditions will remain damp for about the next 24 to 36 hours, with steady rain starting to taper off as Thursday evening wears on.
Setup for decorations at some Greek houses will begin around 10 p.m. Thursday. By that time, Phillipson said there will be areas of drizzle.
Those looking to view the decorations Friday evening can expect some light rain with the low temperatures, eventually falling to 37 degrees.
Phillipson said the forecast looks dry for the nationally televised MU Homecoming football game against Texas on Saturday night. The temperature is expected to be in the upper 40s or lower 50s, Phillipson said.
“It will be a little bit windy, with winds out west at 9 to 11 mph and gusts up to 20 mph," Phillipson said. "But it won’t be too bad.”
