Missouri junior Paola Ampudia posted a school-record 35 kills for the Tigers volleyball team in its 22-25, 25-21, 25-17, 26-24 win Saturday at Kansas. Ampudia and the Tigers rallied from down 20-15 in the fourth frame to take the final set, 26-24, in front of a capacity crowd. The win is the Tigers’ first Big 12 road win of the season.
Ampudia becomes one of only two Tigers to hit the 30-kill plateau. Ampudia’s 35 kills ties the Big 12 four-set record and is a Big 12 season-high. She finished the match just five kills shy of the all-time Big 12 mark. Ampudia also hit .282, her fifth-best clip of the season and posted her third career double-double, adding 11 digs. Catie Wilson led the Tigers with a .433 clip and added 13 kills.
