IMPERIAL — State Rep. Tim Meadows is apologizing after he was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving in Jefferson County.
The Democrat from Imperial said in the statement issued Sunday he is "deeply sorry."
Capt. Ralph Brown of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said a deputy stopped Meadows about 12:13 a.m. Saturday in Imperial. He was booked at the Jefferson County Jail at 1:53 a.m. and released at 2:45 a.m.
The 51-year-old Meadows said in the statement nothing like that had happened in the past and "it certainly won't happen again in the future."
He said his attorney had advised him to make no further comment.
