Ampudia earns Big 12 honors for Missouri volleyball team

Missouri's Paola Ampudia was named Big 12 Volleyball Player of the Week, the first time a Tigers player has claimed the honor in more than two years. Ampudia, a junior, has also been named Big 12 Rookie of the Week three times this season.

During the Tigers' match against Kansas on Saturday, Ampudia broke the school-record for kills with 35 which is also the most kills for any Big 12 player this season. Ampudia also tied the school-record for total attacks in a match with 78. She also leads the team with 19 blocks and is third in digs at 47.

The Tigers play Kansas State next at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Hearnes Center.
