COLUMBIA — Three Missouri women's soccer players were honored with awards this week after defeating Iowa State 3-1 Friday and beating Nebraska 5-0 Sunday. The win over Nebraska clinched the program's first Big 12 regular season title.
Senior forward Kristen Andrighetto was named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week after scoring three goals and notching one assist throughout the weekend. She is in second place in career goals at Missouri with 35 and leads the team in points with 20 and goals at eight.
Senior goalkeeper Tasha Dittamore was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season after earning her 17th career shutout against Nebraska. She ranks third in the Big 12 with saves at 73.
Freshman Kellie Gavigan achieved her first award this week when she was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week. Gavigan helped lead the team's defense against a usually strong Nebraska offense led by Morgan Marlborough, the nation's leading scorer.
The Tigers play their last regular season game against Kansas at 3 p.m. Friday in Lawrence, Kan.
