COLUMBIA — A woman suffered minor injuries in a three-car pileup at the intersection of Providence Road and Worley Street on Wednesday afternoon.

The woman, who was driving a red Chevrolet south on Providence, hit a black Jeep at the stoplight at Worley. The black Jeep then hit a gray Toyota in front of it. The Chevrolet was totaled, but the other two cars received only minimal damage.

Police are not yet sure whether the woman had tried to stop before hitting the Jeep.

"She will probably at least get a ticket for colliding with another vehicle," Columbia police Officer Jason McClintick said.

The woman, who was standing outside of her car after the accident, was transported to a hospital for treatment. The other drivers had no injuries.
