The Rock Bridge football team came into its game Friday night at Blue Springs with its playoff hopes alive. Blue Springs dashed those hopes.

After playing with one of the best teams in the state for a half, the Bruins eventually lost 49-14 at Blue Springs, ending their season. The Bruins needed to win to have an opportunity to win their district and advance to the playoffs.

Rock Bridge kept the game close throughout the first half. After the Bruins' offense capitalized on Tyler Benjamin’s second quarter interception with a touchdown, they went into the locker room trailing only 20-14.

Offensive lineman Skyler Hinton said that Blue Springs came out of halftime strong, going on a 29-0 run to finish the game.
