COLUMBIA — The Salvation Army is taking applications for Christmas assistance Nov. 2 to Nov. 6 and Nov. 9 to Nov. 13 at 1108 W. Ash St. Applications will be accepted from 9 to 11 a.m and 1 to 3 p.m.

Special Services Director Major Katrina Mathews said in a news release that families with children age 16 and younger, adults with disabilities and senior citizens living in Columbia and Ashland are eligible to apply if they haven't already signed up with another agency.

Mathews said the Salvation Army is grateful for donors' assistance and generosity.

"We look forward to helping the people in need in our community," she said.
