COLUMBIA — Repairs to a broken water main caused water to be shut off for 200-300 Columbia residents Friday evening, said city Water and Light spokeswoman Connie Kacprowicz.

The break happened at Dawn Ridge Road and Clark Lane and affected houses on Dawn Ridge Road and residents of Stonegate Mobile Home Community and Pine Grove Village.

Water was shut off at 5:30 p.m.

Kacprowicz said it would be off for 4 to 5 hours.

The cause of the water main break remains unknown, according to Kacprowicz.
