LAWRENCE, Kan. — University of Kansas defensive end D.J. Marshall has informed the team that he has been diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma.

Marshall released a statement through the university Thursday vowing to defeat the disease and be back on the football field.

The redshirt freshman will undergo more tests before doctors decide on a treatment.

Team physician Larry Magee said Marshall's prognosis for a full recovery is good.

Coach Mark Mangino said Marshall will remain with the team during this weekend's game with Kansas State.
