The Missouri soccer team could not repeat its regular-season success in the Big 12 tournament, falling 3-2 in the semifinals on Friday.

The top-seeded Tigers fell to the No. 5-seed Oklahoma State Cowgirls, 3-2, only their second conference loss of the year. Annika Niemeier’s goal in the 80th minute gave the Cowgirls the lead for good.

After trailing for most of the game 1-0, MU scored twice in a span of five minutes, first with a header from Alysha Bonnick in the 70th minute and then on a free kick just outside the penalty box in the 75th minute by Kristin Andrighetto.

The goal was Andrighetto's third in the Tigers' two tournament games. She scored twice, including the game winner, in 3-2 overtime victory over Kansas in the quarterfinal.

The Tigers outshot the Cowgirls 12-10, including 6-3 on shots on goal, but couldn't overcome OSU's counter-attack. OSU scored its first second-half goal a little over a minute after Andrighetto's, and the game winner only six minutes after that.

MU will now have to wait to see if it will be selected for the third year in a row as one of the 64 teams to participate in the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers made it to the second round the last two years. The tournament announcement is scheduled to be are set to made at 7 p.m Monday.
