COLUMBIA — The Missouri Tigers were left out.

Of the 64 teams selected Monday for the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship, the Tigers were not included.

Missouri (13-6-3) won the Big 12 in the regular season title, but fell short in the Big 12 tournament losing 3-2 to Oklahoma State in the semifinals.

The early exit in the Big 12 tournament and a slow start to the season put the Tigers  on the bubble going into the NCAA tournament selection.

Big 12 tournament champion Oklahoma State and Texas A&M were the only teams from the Big 12 to make the tournament. Oklahoma State (15-7), winners of eight straight, earned an automatic bid after winning the Big 12 Tournament. Texas A&M (14-6-2) was one of 34 at-large bids in the field.

The top 4 seeds in the tournament include defending champion North Carolina, Stanford, UCLA and Florida State.

First round action begins Friday.
