ST. LOUIS — Former St. Louis detective Bobby Lee Garrett has been sentenced to two years and four months in prison on federal corruption charges.
Garrett was sentenced Tuesday in St. Louis federal court after pleading guilty last year to wire fraud and wire fraud conspiracy, misapplying government money, embezzling government property and two counts of making false statements.
Federal prosecutors said officers Garrett, Leo Liston and Vincent Carr were assigned to the crime suppression unit. They say the 49-year-old Garrett, of St. Louis County, stole money in two drug raids, and he and other officers stole money from a purported drug courier. Liston and Carr were previously sentenced on related charges.
