Columbia woman robbed at gunpoint

COLUMBIA — A woman was robbed at gunpoint Saturday afternoon at her mobile home in a northeast Columbia trailer park.

The victim, 59, told investigators she was at her home at 2001 Holly Ave. listening to the radio when a man entered the mobile home and displayed a silver handgun, demanding money. There was no sign of a forced entry, according to a police report.

Though the suspect told her he knew she kept her money in her pocket, the victim said she did not recognize the man. He left the mobile home with a small amount of cash, Columbia Public Information Officer Jessie Haden said.

There were no other witnesses to the incident, Haden said.

Anyone with information helpful to this case is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 875-TIPS.
