UPDATE: Damages estimated in fire at Boris Drive house

COLUMBIA — Firefighters from the Boone County Fire Protection District extinguished a house fire Wednesday morning after a neighbor reported seeing smoke and flames coming from the garage.

Damage estimates have reached $140,000, although the cause is still under investigation, according to a news release from the Fire District. Firefighters, along with two engines, two tankers and an air truck, were on the scene for about two hours.
