COLUMBIA — One person was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries after a collision Thursday at the intersection of Interstate 70 and Providence Road. Northbound traffic on Providence Road moved slowly around 12:30 p.m.

According to Columbia Police Officer Gene Williams, the driver of a gold 2008 Lincoln Navigator was turning left from I-70 onto southbound Providence Road and collided with a 1997 Mercury Sable that was in the right lane of northbound Providence.

The Navigator's driver was wearing a seatbelt. It was unclear whether the Sable driver, who went to the hospital, was wearing one, Williams said.
