COLUMBIA — The Columbia College women's volleyball team added an American Midwest Conference tournament title to its regular season AMC crown on Saturday at Southwell Complex.
The Cougars (37-2, 17-0) swept William Woods 25-17, 25-18 and 25-19 in the AMC tournament championship giving them the AMC’s automatic bid to the NAIA national tournament in December in Sioux City, Iowa. This is the 16th year in a row the Cougars have earned a spot in the tournament.
Cate Eckhardt and Maria Omondi had a big match for the Cougars. Eckhardt finished with 12 kills, Omondi with 11. After the match, Omondi was named the AMC Most Valuable Player.
