Missouri Soldier facing trial in sex offenses

OZARK — Arraignment is scheduled for Friday for a soldier accused of sexually assaulting three girls.

Thirty-nine-year-old Colby Sanders of Ozark faces two felony child molestation counts and one felony count each of statutory sodomy, statutory rape, forcible rape and forcible sodomy.

Christian County assistant prosecutor Janette Bleu said Sanders was stationed in Korea with the U.S. Army when charges were filed against him in July.

He wasn't scheduled to return to Ozark until December. But after Bleu contacted the U.S. Army, Sanders was sent to California and then to Christian County in September.

He waived his preliminary hearing this past week.

Court records allege that the sexual offenses occurred at his Ozark home in November and December 2008. The alleged victims ranged in age from 9 to 17.
