Two armed robberies under investigation

COLUMBIA — The Boone County Sheriff’s Department was investigating two armed robberies, which occurred early Sunday morning, according to a release.

Robbery details from the release:

Sgt. James Perkins of the Boone County Sheriff’s Department said the department is unsure whether the robberies are connected.

“We don’t have any information at this point to link them together, but they’re still in the beginning stages of being investigated,” Perkins said.

The victim in the Bethany Drive robbery pointed deputies in the direction of an apartment building he thought the suspects had come from. Officers identified and detained two men matching the victim's description.

Tevin E. Clark, 17, was identified by the victim as a suspect in the Bethany Drive robbery, and the other man was released. The second suspect is still at large.
