Columbia College men's basketball team loses third straight

The Columbia College men's basketball team lost 51-45 to Benedictine (Kan.) College on Tuesday night in Atchison, Kan., marking its third straight loss.

Columbia College (2-3) pulled within two on a Taylor Evans' 3-pointer with 18 seconds to go, but were forced to foul, sending the Ravens (4-1) to the free-throw line where they claimed the victory.

Senior forward Quintin Totta led the Cougars with 16 points. Evans was the only other Cougars player in double figures with 10 points. Greg Stegeman had nine rebounds.

The Cougars, ranked No. 19 in the NAIA Preseason Top 25 Poll, play in the Culver-Stockton College Classic over the weekend in Canton. The Cougars will face Ashford (Iowa) College at 5:30 p.m. Friday then take on Culver-Stockton at 3:00 p.m. Saturday.
