Throughout the century, health care has been in debate in Washington. From former President Theodore Roosevelt in 1912 to President Barack Obama this year, there have been many major initiatives toward changing the health care system in the U.S.
This timeline will take you through the 20th century and outline U.S. presidents' stances on the debate that could have either made or broken their careers.
