COLUMBIA — A Columbia man was arrested and charged with statutory rape Thursday.

Kory Ramon William, 27, was arrested at 3:16 a.m. after two officers on patrol on Utility Drive noticed a car parked on the street with steamed up windows.

William and a 15-year-old female were in the backseat. The girl was receiving a ride home from William when she consented to kissing, and then he took it "further," according to Detective Jeff Westbrook of the Columbia Police Department.

The female was taken to University Hospital and examined. Statutory rape is a felony charge, and William’s bail has been set at $4,500.
