COLUMBIA — Police say a man armed with a handgun robbed a northeast Columbia convenience store late Thursday night.

A man entered the Break Time on Paris Road around 10:30 p.m. and showed the clerk a handgun, Columbia Police Detective Jeff Westbrook said. According to a report by the Columbia Tribune, the man demanded cash.

Police have reviewed surveillance footage from the store, but Westbrook said the man’s hood was pulled down over his face, so he wasn't easily identifiable.

Only the clerk was in the store at the time of the robbery. No one was hurt, but the clerk was very shaken up, Westbrook said.
