The Columbia College men's basketball team defeated Culver-Stockton 56-43 on Saturday in Canton, Mo.
The Cougars (3-4) led 28-20 at halftime, but Culver-Stockton tied it at the 17 minute mark of the second half. An 11-3 run put the Cougars back in charge. Columbia College outrebounded Culver-Stockton 33-28 and forced them into 21 turnovers.
Senior forward Quintin Totta led the Cougars with 14 points. Chad Thompson finished with 12 and Greg Stegeman 10 points.
Columbia College, No. 19 in the NAIA preseason top 25, plays next at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday when they travel to Marshall to take on Missouri Valley.
